If you have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), you know how difficult it can be to stay productive. Focusing on tasks and completing them on time can be challenging, but hope exists. One of the most effective strategies to combat the effects of ADHD is body doubling.
Body-doubling is breaking down tasks into smaller, manageable chunks and then using a second person’s presence to help you complete them. This strategy can benefit people with ADHD because it allows them to focus on one task at a time without getting overwhelmed. By breaking down tasks into smaller components and setting up an order to complete them, it can be easier to stay focused and complete them in an efficient manner. Having others around is tremendous peer pressure to keep working while with someone else and make the most of your time. A Body doubling partner can also help you re-focus with gentle reminders while together.
The partner that you choose for body-doubling should be someone who is organized, reliable, and supportive. This person should also be someone who understands your struggles with ADHD and can help you stay on track. They should be able to provide guidance and encouragement when needed.
Body-doubling can help you stay productive and organized throughout the day. You can work on tasks together, with your partner helping you stay focused on tasks.
