It’s Personal
My son struggled with school his whole life. Things started turning around his senior year, but he did a gap year and didn’t complete it. Then he went to college - and that didn’t go well. He was working as a contractor when the pandemic happened and he lost his job because he wasn’t a full-time employee. That's when it hit him he needed to go back to school.
But how do we make it work this time? I went looking for somebody. He was never one to seek out help and would avoid tasks he perceived as too hard. He needed somebody who was going to show him how to get things done and stay with him as an accountability partner - not just for school stuff but for life stuff too. I had once supported myself as a Temp and worked for many men who required a daily schedule in their breast pocket prepared for them every day. They needed files, documentation and other things from me, but were perfectly capable of getting their work done and their lives together within a schedule with that support. I figured, how hard would it be to find someone to do that for my son.
Well until now it didn’t exist. I like the phrase “Mother of Invention” because once I figured out what he needed I immediately thought about sustainability and that’s how Alpha Delta Zeta, LLC and Life Tutors were born.
The rise of technology has been accompanied by a rise in responsibility for organizing one’s life, communicating one’s ideas, and keeping track of important information and contacts. The demands on one’s Executive Functions are enormous for people even without organizational challenges. There is a higher bar for competence in skill areas that not everyone has without sufficient options for available support that can change with your needs and as you grow. Life Tutors bridges the gap and fills that need for anyone who wants it.
